As a Senior Proposal Writer, you know how to compose and comprise correctly. You hone disparate solutions and processes into clear, compliant, and compelling proposals. You understand the business acquisition process and strive to help subject matter experts develop their solutions via persuasive prose. You will serve as the primary lead or co-writer of technical, management, and past performance volumes as well as executive summaries and other areas, as needed.

What you’ll do…


  • Support RFP, RFI/Sources Sought and Rapid Response Task Order responses, as assigned.
  • Write or co-write content that is clear and concise and that resonates with the needs of the customer.
  • Translate and synthesize information from SMEs into a message that targeted audiences can understand, while maintaining the technical accuracy and completeness of the intended response.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with a broad range of people across multiple disciplines.
  • Lead and support the development and completion of winning proposal solutions documentation.
  • Serve as the point of contact for compiling proposal documents. Lead volumes, as appropriate.
  • Interview SMEs to understand complex technical and managerial concepts of the work they perform and convert that information into a technically compliant, competitive, compelling proposal.
  • Ensure optimal organization, presentation and articulation of our client’s solution in the final proposal and oversee incorporation of key messaging that clarifies the strengths of their offer, including any discriminators.
  • Assist proposal managers and capture managers in developing/maintaining and communicating storylines, schedules (including review and production phases), plans, outlines, assignments, baselines, and storyboards to the team.
  • Routinely articulate complex concepts and processes orally and in writing.
  • Routinely function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Mentor and manage junior proposal writers.
  • Accommodate a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Ability to prioritize while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to perform with grace and efficiency under pressure.

You’d be a great fit if you…


  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English/Humanities, Business, Grant Writing, Technical Writing, Creative Writing, Marketing Management, Journalism, or related field
  • You have 10+ years of professional writing experience within the Federal, State, and /or local Government market.
  • You can get a security clearance.

It’s even better if you have…


  • A Master’s Degree or certifications in related field.
  • Exceptional oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • A record of being a strong team player 
  • Experience preparing briefings for client and/or senior leadership.
  • Experience managing projects and teams, with people who are your direct reports.
  • Extensive experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/Power Point).
  • Ability to interact effectively across multiple levels and various disciplines.
  • A well-developed organizational, talent and time management skills.
